Brazilian supermodel Alessandra Ambrósio and her fiancé Jamie Mazur welcomed a son, Noah Phoenix, into their family on Monday in Florianopolis, Brazil just two days after her baby shower.

Today Ambrósio tweeted, “Well, the day just arrived and we couldn’t be more happy!!! Noah Phoenix was born yesterday afternoon and already stole our hearts. Anja is a proud big sister now and we are so thankful he is with us…”

It’s a boy for Tom Colicchio

Top Chef’s Tom Colicchio has expanded his brood with another boy. On Tuesday, March 22nd at 12:11pm in New York, his wife filmmaker Lori Silverbush gave birth to little Mateo Lev (7.9 lbs).

Mateo is the third child for Tom, joining sons, Luka (10 months) with wife Lori – and Dante (17 years) from a previous relationship.

Actress Gretchen Mol Welcomes Daughter!

A baby girl was welcomed by Boardwalk Empire actress Gretchen Mol, 38-years-old, on Thursday, February 17th in New York. She delivered her 2nd child, Winter Morgan Williams who is now little sister to their son, Ptolemy John, 3 1/2-years-old. Father and Paranormal Activity 2 director Tod ‘Kip’ Williams and his family are overjoyed! It’s a holiday baby bonanza!

The holidays are a time for all of us to be thankful but for the following celebrities there were additional reasons to rejoice.

Early Monday, December 20^th actress Ali Larter and her writer/actor husband Hayes MacArthur welcomed their first child, son Theodore Hayes.  

During Larter’s pregnancy she told PEOPLE that impending motherhood put things in a new light.

“To feel this life growing inside of me grounds me every day and really puts things into perspective about what’s important in life,” she said. “It really is your health and your family.”

Congratulations Ali on your new little bundle of joy!

 

 
Former Friends star, David Schwimmer has announced that he’s going to be a dad!

The actor and his new bride photographer Zoe Buckman will become first-time parents and they “couldn’t be more thrilled.” said Schwimmer’s rep.

David, 44, and Zoe, 26, met in 2007 in London while he was directing the film “Run, Fat Boy, Run.” They announced their engagement in March.

In 2006 while speaking to PEOPLE about starting his own family he said, “It will happen when it feels right. Maybe part of me is waiting for myself to slow down a little and be ready to stay put. I’m confident it’s gonna happen.”

He was right! Congrats to the happy couple.

Stunning plus size model Kate Dillon and husband Gabe Levin welcomed their first child, baby boy Lucas Dillon Levin, on Tuesday, Dec. 21 in New York City. Little Lucas weighed in at 8 lbs. Dillon, 36, and Levin, a real estate investor, met during a flight in 2007 and were married Dec. 28, 2008.

Wedding Crashers star, Vince Vaughn and wife Kyla Weber welcomed a healthy baby girl into their lives on Saturday morning, Dec. 18 in a hospital in Vaughn’s hometown of Chicago. Locklyn Kyla Vaughn, weighed in at 7 lbs. and was 20 inches long.

Locklyn is the first child for both Vince and Kyla. 2010 has been a banner year for the couple who wed in January and have finished off the year off with a new baby. “Both of them couldn’t be happier to welcome their sweet little girl into their family!” says a friend of the couple.

Over the Moon!

On Saturday Sarah Michelle Gellar gave birth to baby girl Charlotte Grace Prinze.  The 32-year-old star of “Buffy” and her 33-year-old husband Freddy Prinze Jr. (both stars in Scooby-Doo) are now proud parents to their first baby. A representative for Gellar told People that “The family is over the moon.”

The couple met on the set of “I know what you did last summer” in 1997 and after 2 years of dating they wed in 2002.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, before announcing her pregnancy in April, she explained why she felt it was important to wait for the right time to start a family.  “When we do have children, my husband and I will have such a strong foundation because we’ve given our relationship time to grow, I try to go into everything with and open mind, but it’s much more than I thought it would be. The partnership grows to such a different level. And all my life it was just my mom and me, us against the world; so to let someone else in and to have another partner was hard for me.  Now he’s my partner, my best friend, and my husband.”

I’m so happy for her; it’s extraordinary,” her former Buffy the Vampire Slayer costar Michelle Trachtenberg told Us around the time her pregnancy was announced. “She’s going to make a great mommy. They’re going to be extraordinary parents.”

A Beautiful Family is “Born”

Katherine Heigl, Dr. Izzie Stevens on ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” and Josh Kelley, singer and songwriter have a new member of the family.  They welcomed their new daughter, Nancy Leigh – Naleigh for short – last week.  Heigl and Kelley have been waiting for this moment for over 6 months – Naleigh was adopted from South Korea and is 10 months old.

Heigl announced the news on the Ellen DeGeneres show saying “she was actually born the day before me in November, which I thought was really serendipitous and just kind of like a sign.”  At a concert at Miami University Kelley introduced a song he had just written about Naleigh, singing the lines, “Just to see you in mommy’s arms is all I need.”  So sweet!

Exciting News! Heartfelt Changes…

Last Thursday I heard shrieking from the front office…noises that herald the arrival of either: a new baby, a new puppy, or…an engagement ring!  Sarah, Assistant Designer of le•top, walked into the office this past week and flashed her beautiful new accessory announcing her engagement!  We are thrilled for Sarah, especially since we just love her fiancé Steve!  Sarah, a Montana native, managed to meet the man of her dreams – a fireman that shoes horses as his ‘second job.’  The transplanted Cowgirl finds a California Cowboy!

Steve’s family loves Sarah!  When news of the engagement spread to Steve’s family, and her soon-to-be brother-in-law started teaching their 4 year old daughter Gianna that Sarah would now be “Auntie” Sarah (rather than “Big” Sarah – to differentiate her from a preschool friend with the same name.)  When Sarah arrived for a 1^st birthday party for Gianna’s younger sister she greeted her with “Auntie Sarah, Auntie Sarah!”  This was an exciting and heart warming surprise for Sarah!  She is really happy to be part of her fiancé’s family and becoming “Auntie” Sarah made it official!!

It’s baby boom time in celebrity land!

Mira Sorvino gave birth to Holden Paul Terry Backus June 22^nd.  He weighed 8lbs 12oz.

Jason Priestly and his wife Naomi Lowde-Priestly welcomed their baby boy on July 9^th.  No name or weight has been released yet.

Molly Ringwald welcomed her twins on Friday July 10^th.  Adele Georgina Ringwald Gianopoulous entered the world first and 10 minutes later her little brother Roman Stylianos Ringwald Gianopoulous was delivered.

Creative Baby Shower Gifts: The Diaper Cake

My cousin, Joslyn, is getting ready to have Baby #2 (a girl, Haven Bella) soon and this weekend, we are holding her baby shower! Since I work at a baby and kids clothing company, it’s no secret that most of my baby shower gifts are going to be our gorgeous baby clothes from le•top and rabbitmoon, but sometimes I like to mix it up a little. “Surprise” is a big thing for me, and because my gifts are generally predictable, I like to throw a zinger in there.

• For Jess’ baby shower gift, I put together a HUGE basket of clothes, along with some great products I have come across since being in the industry (Nookie pacifiers, Baby Legs, Pedipeds, etc).
• For Erin T’s, I did the basket and a Starbucks Frappuccino 4-pack filled with clothes instead of drinks. (Erin T. LOVES Starbucks!)
• For Joslyn (since she already had a similar gift with the first baby), I decided my “surprise” would be a diaper cake.

I have come across a lot of these online, but was never sure exactly how they did it. So the other night, I YouTube’d it, and sure enough there was a cheesy – though resourceful – How-To video. I bought the diapers, the ribbon, the jewels, the rubber bands, and the pins (my variation from double-stick tape), and went to work. I had to roll the diapers slightly differently than the video explained because the cute “character scene” on the front was turning my white cake into a blue one. All in all it took about 45 minutes to roll 92 diapers (size 1 & 2) and assemble them in the cake layers; about 30 minutes to put the ribbons and the jewels on; and 5 seconds to lay the shoes on the top as the cake topper.

Remember, this was my first time doing this, and I have learned some lessons:

1. Use ALL white diapers, if possible.
2. There is an advantage to using the double-stick tape (my ribbons are falling down because I only tautly pinned them — and in one place for that matter)
3. I need to figure out a way to secure the shoes on top (double-stick tape?)
4. Use a circular cake stand to start out the bottom layer. My bottom layer is too big for the cake stand.

Big Sis Knows What To Do

Last weekend we drove down to Los Angeles (from the Bay Area) for my cousin’s baby shower. The drive there was a piece of cake. It took us about 8 hours with only 2 stops. Amazing, considering we had a newborn. Meanwhile, my 4-year old was her usual self asking us what number to count to before we get to LA, and repeatedly asking, “Are we there yet?” (Click here to read about our memorable trip to San Diego.)

The drive home was a completely different story. It took us almost 12 hours with so many stops that I vowed never to drive a long trip like that ever again! For some reason, my 3-week old was hungry EVERY HOUR. “Didn’t I just feed you?” And other times he would howl and cry, and we couldn’t figure out why. He wasn’t hungry. He wasn’t wet. He wasn’t hurt or sick. He just wanted to be on Daddy’s lap or in Mommy’s embrace. I guess I’d rather have that, too. But after so many stops for no reason other than to take him out of his car seat, we’d had enough. Our so-called “solution” was to let him scream in agony — while we listened in agony! Then, miraculously, Big Sis saved the day. Miranda sang “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star” and Paulo stopped crying! The first time it happened, we thought it was just luck. But it happened a couple more times, and it worked every time. One time she even sang a different song (some song from “High School Musical”), but it didn’t work. So we asked her to stick to his usual request because that’s what Paulo liked. She gladly complied.
