Reverie Baby – le•top photo shoot

Wow…do we have great friends at Reverie Baby!  This is the second season that our dear friends let us orchestrate a “mini” le•top baby photo shoot at their store! Reverie Baby in Santa Rosa, CA, has been amazingly accommodating; allowing us to set up little mini vignettes around their beautifully merchandized store to photograph samples from the new Fall 2009 le•top baby collection.

Marykate Fleming (our le•top baby head designer) and I staged “sets” by moving around racks and furniture all day long to get our shots. The new owner Nancy Dupont, in the process of taking over ownership of the store from our old friend Arnie Levine, was having quite a busy day. In spite of the fact that they had customers to attend to, Nancy and her crew made us feel very welcome! So, to the whole Reverie Baby family – Nancy Dupont, Arnie Levine, Dana Chappell, and Pam DuPertuis – we say “Thank You!!!”

What do you do with your child’s outgrown clothes?

Miranda's already outgrown her fall le•top clothes!

The weather is getting warmer. It’s almost spring time…and my daughter is growing like a weed! When Miranda put on these pants (from le•top’s Flower Power collection from last fall) I knew it was time to start going through her clothes to see what I can put away. You might think that I’m still nesting, but this has become a ritual in my house ever since Miranda started outgrowing her baby clothes. I saved EVERYTHING! Well, almost everything. Stained or worn clothes went in a pile for donation. Torn or ripped clothes became either cleaning rags or were recycled. (Yeah, I’m green like that.) And now that Baby #2 is on the way, part of me is hoping for a girl so that I can pull out all of Miranda’s old clothes and put them on the next one.

The Treehouse

Located in South Lake Tahoe and Truckee

I went to South Lake Tahoe with my family for the weekend to enjoy some fun in the snow before the arrival of our next baby. Before we left, I decided to go on Le Top’s store locator just to see if there was a le•top retailer in town. I was delighted to have found a children’s store called “The Treehouse.” I didn’t really know if I would be able to visit the store since I was there with three other families (yes, three), but I’m so glad I found time! While the kids were playing at the cabin with the dads watching over them, my sister-in-law and I were able to escape to do some shopping.

Designers' mischief-making fun with the mannequins

Our amazing photographer Marcy Maloy was here last week to discuss our upcoming photo shoot. We will be taking pictures of the new Fall ’09 Collections – I know, we apparel folks don’t go by ‘normal’ calendars! Here we are in the middle of winter, but we’re shipping our Spring Collection, and doing photo shoots for our Fall Collection! A photo shoot is an event that always brings excitement and more than a bit of havoc here at le•top! Marcy is based in San Francisco and has worked with us for over 10 years.
