Little Lambs Children's Boutique in Pell City, AL

Little Lambs Children's Boutique in Pell City, AL

Heather Adams loves children…so she became a teacher!  When her daughter Anna Beth was born she made the decision to fulfill another dream, also in the children’s arena – she became the owner of a wonderful children’s boutique in town that she heard was closing.  Little Lambs Children’s Boutique in Pell City, Alabama was perfect!  Heather’s dream as a new mother was to spend as much time as possible with her darling daughter – and two years later Little Lambs has become Anna Beth’s second home with mommy.

Little Lambs Children’s Boutique, now open for a total of 14 years, is a fun and happy place.  Heather loved the name of the boutique, and decided not to change it because as she says,

“Children are God’s Little Lambs.”

One of the benefits that Heather loves the most about owning her store, other than spending most days there with her daughter, is the interaction with her customers and the community.  It is exciting to help choose new outfits for special babies or birthday gifts for grandchildren.  She loves being involved with that momentous decision by a new mom-to-be, when they choose their baby’s “coming home” outfit – a truly special day!

Heather’s involvement extends beyond just selling clothing to her customers – she delights in creating special events in the store that brings her community closer.  She hosts pottery parties twice per year – creating ‘priceless’ art – like the impressions of tiny hands and feet that will be cherished for years to come.  During the Christmas and Easter holiday seasons a photographer is in the store to capture wonderful moments with Santa and the Easter Bunny.

Heather makes shopping for the special items at Little Lambs even easier – she has created an online store as well!  You can visit the website at www.shoplittlelambs.com .When visiting this charming website you might want to sign up for the email list; the recipients receive emails regarding preview sales and special events.  Tech savvy customers also receive special offers on Facebook!  Complimentary gift wrapping is just one of the many perks when buying that special gift from Little Lambs – and makes gifting so much easier!

“We feel very blessed to be able to have this business and are so thankful for our customers.  I have been able to make my dream a reality” – Heather Adams

Girly, yet casual... go for le•top's Flower Power collection.

Girly, yet casual... go for le•top's Flower Power collection.

Earlier this month, Miranda had her “Special Day” at preschool. Special Day means that since her birthday is during the summer when there is no preschool, she gets to have a Special “Miranda” Day to celebrate all things Miranda. She brought her favorite book to read in class (Baloney Henry P. – she likes all things outer space-related) and shared her favorite board game with her classmates (Caribou by Cranium). She was also the teacher’s helper: the flag holder during the “Pledge of Allegiance” and the calendar pointer while reciting the months of the year in front of the classroom all by herself. This is a great opportunity for parents to take oodles of photos of their child!

As it was her “Special Day” (and because I was going to take oodles of photos!), I wanted to get her more dressed up than usual for preschool. I decided on le•top’s Flower Power shirt and pant set, thinking the outfit provided that little extra to make her stand out, while still being comfortable enough to sit on the floor (as well as the other activities of school!). It certainly did! I love the bright colors and the soft fabrics. The aqua shirt is velvety soft, and the corduroy pants are colorful and pliant (unlike most corduroy pants which are usually heavy, scratchy and stiff.)

After 2-1/2 hours of “Special Day” activities, we drove home with a crown atop her head and a big smile on her face! Miranda usually starts peeling off her clothes the moment we set foot in the house, wanting to change into something more comfy. But not that day! She loves wearing all her le•top clothes – even the dresses! – to play in, jump around in, and even for just sitting around in at home (which is fine, because these clothes are durable!).

I keep getting reminded: though le•top clothes are very stylish and adorable…they are made for comfort…with REAL kids in mind! And who’s a better judge than a 4-year old girl who is special in so many ways – not just one day, but every day!

soiloveI love clothes. My daughter loves clothes. She likes to get them dirty, and I like to keep them clean and stain-free, especially when they’re not her typical play clothes. A couple of nights ago, we ate at an Italian restaurant, and my daughter had spaghetti with meatballs. I’m sure you can imagine what happened next. As she stabbed her fork into a piece of meatball and proceeded to put the fork in her mouth, a little morsel of meatball and tomato sauce fell off the fork and rolled down the front of her Flower Power sweater, then landed on her jeans. (more…)
