Shoe heaven...

Shoe heaven...

A tiny portion of our “little” shoe collection provided by our wonderful friends over at Pediped. Their shoes were modeled with both our le•top and rabbit moon clothes for the Fall 09 photo shoot. We had the shoot a few weeks ago, but you’ll have to wait a few months to see them. I promise you, they are just gorgeous. 🙂

And boy! Did our designers have a ton of fun on their online shopping spree at Pediped!

Daisy Dots from the le•top Spring 09 Collection in stores now.

Daisy Dots from the le•top Spring 09 Collection in stores now.

We showed you the very cute dress and bloomer set, which are so adorable, you asked us to show you a few more outfits from this collection! Fun and fashionable, le•top’s Daisy Dots collection reminds us that Spring is just around the corner, and a perfect outfit for Valentine’s Day. Soft washed vertical stripes make a great duo with red and white dots, and the 3-D flowers are a sign of bouquets to come. The red knit is sprinkled with embroidered white dots, and the contrasting mini red dots on white create whimsical ruched accents. Daisy Dots is in stores now, in sizes 3 month to 6x for girls, so use our store locator to find a le•top retailer near you!

We love all things related to style, fashion, design and being in vogue here at le•top. And while our designers find inspiration in almost everything (that’s what designers do!) for our beautiful baby and children’s clothes, it’s not just the cute and adorable and playful that we keep an eye on. Of course, the biggest fashion buzz of the last few weeks has been…what will First Lady-to-be, Michelle Obama be wearing for all the inauguration festivities?!?

I’ve been reading the “Mrs. O” blog, devoted to Michelle Obama’s fashion sense and style, as well as First Lady fashions throughout the years: www.mrs-o.org. It’s a stylish read, and full of history and current events. But for all you fashionistas out there, just looking at the dress sketches will be a dreamy experience!

Sarah's instructional signs for the children of our Go-See...or were they for us?!?

Sarah's instructional signs for the children of our Go-See...or were they for us?!?

In preparation for the Go-See we just recently had at le•top, Sarah (one of le•top’s wonderful designers) posted helpful signs all over the office for the throng of child models coming to see us. “Since you’re over the age of 5”, she told us, “You don’t have to comply with these signs.” Sure, on the outside we all are over the age of 5, but we can really be goofy and have so much fun at work, I sometimes wonder! Still, it’s always good to know there is Water in the Kitchen…

Krypton, the Superdog!

Krypton, the Superdog!

In our very dog-friendly office, we have a superhero among our canine regulars – it’s Krypton! Our head designer Pat Landskron has diabetes, and needs to pay very close attention to her health. Pat is a very talented designer who creates whimsical and unique clothing – and needs to always be healthy and happy to maintain her unique perspective. Pat has created many designs through the years that were inspired by her kitty cats, but now we have the best puppy groups! (Just wait until you see the new collection!) Pat’s inspiration is fueled by her assistance dog, Krypton. Most people are unaware that dogs can be trained to help people with diabetes monitor their sugar level – it is really amazing!

Our amazing photographer Marcy Maloy was here last week to discuss our upcoming photo shoot. We will be taking pictures of the new Fall ’09 Collections – I know, we apparel folks don’t go by ‘normal’ calendars! Here we are in the middle of winter, but we’re shipping our Spring Collection, and doing photo shoots for our Fall Collection! A photo shoot is an event that always brings excitement and more than a bit of havoc here at le•top! Marcy is based in San Francisco and has worked with us for over 10 years. She is a fashion photographer, and her love is working with children – check out Marcy’s Website to see some of her amazing photos, including some of ours! (more…)

Alexandria and her dancing candy cane

Alexandria and her dancing candy cane

My niece Alexandria and I were playing dress-up with a few le•top outfits, and her mom decided to play one of her daughter’s favorite songs, ‘Alphabet Sounds’ by Barbara Milne. When my niece heard the song, she grabbed her candy cane (given to her by Santa that same day) and started to dance while singing, “Apples, apples, a, a, a. Baby, baby, b, b, b…” (more…)

This past Friday was our annual employee potluck at Le Top – a tradition that manages to ring up more calories in a single day than ANYONE needs to consume (everyone brings in a favorite dish), but also rings up a lot of laughter! – we “work” in the morning (yeah, right…) and then gather for the feast.

Let the feast commence!

Let the feast commence!

You hear comments like, “I hope Christopher brought in the salmon” (he did!) and “Yeah! Linda made her divine divinity!” We have a very diverse staff (One day, I counted the languages spoken here – I think it was around 10?!?), so it is really fun (and sometimes quite interesting) to try everyone’s ‘regional’ cuisine. Our international menu included good ole’ American (mac n’ cheese), Chinese (roast duck and noodles), Mexican and South American (pass the hot sauce!) and German (great potato salad!). (more…)
