This dynamic duo, twins Raegan and Brooke, are one-year-old today! A big Happy Birthday to you girls! This photo is from their first sitting with Santa. Mom says, “Raegan (on the right) wasn’t psyched about what she saw, but Brooke held it together pretty well.” It’s a fabulous photo and your daughters are lovely.

Congratulations to Raegan and Brooke for being the Le Top Darlings of the Day!

One of my good friends just welcomed two twin bundles of joy into this world about two and half weeks ago. She had a boy, Henry, and girl Piper! I have seen the most adorable photos of her two babies…the interesting thing is that they are always cuddling! Her sister assured me that they were not ‘placed’ that way for the photo, and that they naturally always tend to cuddle one another and face one another in the crib. They even escape their swaddles to be near one another and have a very strong bond. The sweet connection and incredible images amazed me and I wondered, is there a special connection between twins? Is it a myth or reality? In my opinion, it is a reality. There are tons of twins on my mother and father’s side of the family – I always say there is a strong chance that I might have twins. So I explored this notion…

These precious twins (now 4-months-old) are too cute for words. I’m sure they will be finishing each other sentences and reading each others thoughts in no time. We are pleased as punch to honor Chloe and Joseph as our Darlings of the Day.

Then: Me dressing up at Nerd Day; Now: My daughter dressing up for Twin Day

I fondly remember my school days and celebrating Spirit Week. Back then I never really understood WHY we had Spirit Week. All I really cared about back then was that I got to be creative and got dressed up for some weird and wacky-themed days, such as Nerd Day, Crazy Hair Day, Hawaiian Day, Toga Day, Pajama Day, etc. Fun times! I am amazed and can’t believe that I now have a daughter who is making her own fond memories and showing her school spirit, even as young as Kindergarten!

Now that I’m older (and supposedly wiser), there is actually an importance to Spirit Week–in all levels of school. Not only is it enjoyable, but it gives students the chance to express themselves creatively. Spirit Week provides an excellent opportunity for students to learn about leadership. The week is led and planned by the students (with the guidance of teachers). They come up with their own ideas (activities, games, plans) and learn how to put their ideas into action. Students also learn teamwork. Spirit Week encourages students to participate collaboratively and competitively in activities to collect points and achieve success. Spirit Week teaches students community-building as well. By creating excitement and a certain level of energy around Spirit Week, students learn that there are multi-levels of community within their school. They develop a sense of homeroom, grade-level, and school loyalty.

Spirit Week: It’s fun and education!

Miranda in Flamingo Bay (left) and Sophia in Strawberry Fields

Miranda in Flamingo Bay (left) and Sophia in Strawberry Fields

A couple of weekends ago, we drove down to Southern California to attend a baby shower I’d been invited to. Knowing that the weather there is always much warmer than the San Francisco, I packed summer wear—mostly le•top outfits—since it’ll be awhile before we really get to wear them here in the Bay Area. We met up with my cousin and her kids at a park so that my daughter (Miranda) and her daughter (Sophia) could get some play time. They’re like sisters, these two. We call them “Double Trouble.” They’re both bossy and like to pick on the boys.

I was delighted to see Sophia in the le•top Strawberry Fields dress that I sent to her as a birthday gift. Meanwhile, Miranda was decked out in my favorite le•top collection, Flamingo Bay. What’s fabulous is, that although these outfits are from two different collections, they complement each other very well! Perfect for sisters, twins, cousins, friends — who like to dress alike but not exactly the same.

Visit our store locator to find these lovely collections near you.

Charlie Sheen and wife, Brooke Mueller Sheen, had their twin boys Max and Bob on Saturday, March 14. (The boys were six weeks early!)

“They’re doing great and Brooke’s doing great,” Charlie’s rep said.

I’d do my usual poll asking you your opinions about these celebrity baby names, but they’re so “normal” that I think we all could agree that it’s about time we had some regular celebrity baby names.
