David and Victoria Beckham are spending quiet time at home because they just welcomed a baby girl – Harper Seven Beckham. Our rabbitmoon NEW pre-fall “Magnolia” Collection would be perfect for this new little love – we think the supersoft cotton flower print jumpsuit would be blissful for her!

Made of heavenly soft cotton, this hand-illustrated magnolia flower print pink jumpsuit with puff sleeves, contrast dark chocolate peter-pan collar, and sweet mini side pockets drapes perfectly at the pleated yoke. Pleated wrist and leg cuffs offer a subtle bubble look. Back and underneath diaper snaps for easy dressing.

How did the parents of three boys –  Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, 8 1/2, and Cruz, 6 1/2 – ever arrive at the name Harper, let alone Seven? Harper is an old English name that Victoria has always loved, PEOPLE has learned, and seven is considered a very lucky spiritual number. In addition, Harper Seven was born Sunday morning in L.A.’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center weighing 7 lbs. (and 10 oz.) in the seventh hour in the seventh month – on the seventh day of the week. What more? As sports fans can’t help but also note, seven was David’s jersey number for Manchester United and the English national. Cheers to the newest member of the Beckham fam!

Paulo is wearing School of Fun and Chameleon Camouflage from LeTop's 2011 Spring Summer Collection.

We took our kids to Disneyland this summer for our family vacation. This was Paulo’s first visit and we didn’t know what to expect. Will he go crazy? Will he love it? Will WE hate it? Well… he LOVED it and we loved that he loved it!

He was in awe when he saw Mickey Mouse standing in front of him. He ran right up to him and gave him a hug. He went nuts when he saw Lightning McQueen right before his eyes. He wanted to climb up in the driver’s seat and take him for a spin. And the rides? A definite two thumbs up on ALL the rides! His favorite ride, I would say, was the Jungle Adventure Ride because of all the animals he encountered while on the boat trip. Although he also liked Autopia because he got to drive his own car with Daddy. He wasn’t a fan of the long lines. (Who is?) But this trooper made the best of it by hanging on the rails, climbing the walls and rolling around on the ground.

Disneyland… the Happiest Place on Earth!

Paulo is wearing Chameleon Camouflage from Le Top's 2011 Spring Summer Collection.

We were complaining last month that summer wasn’t here yet since it even rained in June. But now, summer arrived with a vengeance here in the San Francisco Bay Area. Time to play outside. But wait… It’s TOO HOT! It’s sweltering that playing outside is a challenge. For five minutes, Paulo dribbled his basketball, ran around a bit, then pushed his Tonka truck before we all called it quits and went back in the house. Then we decided to go to the movies to cool off! Phew!

If you’re planning to be outside, remember to:

  • drink lots of water to stay hydrated
  • put sunscreen on to protect your skin
  • wear a hat
  • take a rest preferably under a shady tree

1.    What was your inspiration/ behind opening your children’s clothing store – P. Cottontail & Company?
Sandra: I really did not have a single inspiration — being in the garment industry my entire career — and the kids business for a large part of that…it was a natural progression.

2.    Tell us about any special events that you have planned at your store this coming summer and fun deals we can expect. Sandra: Our special events this summer?…On July 4th we have an old fashion hometown parade. We will be handing out flags to all of our kids. Also our BIG end of season sale will start in mid-July. Of course, do not forget THE PUMPKIN FESTIVAL in October. Please visit us early for all things pumpkin AND the best costumes ever.

3.    What are this season’s latest trends for kid’s clothing? Tell us the 3 “do’s” and 3 “don’ts” in kid clothing style.
Sandra: Do’s and Don’ts…

  • Do go for all things comfy and soft — babies and kids both can develop sensory issues at an early age give them all the help you can.
  • Do go for the accessories — it makes the outfit — boys love hats and cool shoes, girls love purses just like mom.
  • Do go for lots of great dress up clothes, it’s not just for b-day parties, and not just for girls!
  • Don’t ever buy any garment that even LOOKS itchy — this is especially important in dressy dresses — also tags inside the garment — many
of the moms ask us to remove them after they purchase the outfit because they bother the kids so much.
  • Don’t ever go for anything tight or restrictive — kids need to be kids.

4.    Tell us…before you “had kids or grandkids, what is one thing you swore you’d never…?” Please share!
Sandra: I never had anything I swore I would never do — I’m a firm believer in “never say never.” I have one daughter — one amazing daughter — and being in the apparel industry, she was exposed to all types of clothing and styles and is quite the diva.

5.    Describe the neighborhood of Half Moon Bay, California where your store is located. Did you grow up in the local area?
Sandra:
Half Moon Bay is a coast side town about 20 minutes south of San Francisco — the ocean is a big attraction for families — there are also tide pools at The Fitzgereld Marine Reserve where kids get a real hands-on experience.

6.    What are your top 3 best selling beach gear items that you would suggest as the perfect “go-to” items for a family on vacation?
Sandra:
Top 3 items for beach gear — SUN SCREEN – a sun hat with a large brim and sunglasses – I’m very big on sun protection — start you kids early.

7.    Tell us about a “special” moment that made your day working at your store.
Sandra: Hands down favorite moment in the store is when one of my favorite little girls came in, sat down on the floor, opened her piggy bank–dumped out all the pennies–and asked me if she had enough money to buy the horse outfit!!

Le Top "Flutterbye Butterfly" Hooded Zip Front Coverup and Bikini

8.    What swimwear or cover-up piece from Le Top or rabbitmoon do you love from the Spring/Summer 2011 collection?
Sandra: My summer swimwear collection favorite piece…is the pink zip front cover-up from the Le Top “Flutterbye Butterfly” Collection – I also love the bikini-don’t forget the sun hat!

Here in New York it is SO HUMID – I tried to explain this to my niece and was having trouble. I know that New York City isn’t the only place it gets humid. I used to live in San Diego and it would be humid there or even in parts of the mid-west. Here is a mini explanation to tell your little one.

The past couple of years Le Top employees have supported a program near and dear to our hearts through Volunteers of America, called Operation Backpack. The program collects necessary back-to-school supplies and disburses them to Greater Sacramento, CA area homeless and disadvantaged families, as well as agencies and school districts. I know summer has just started but the new school year is fast approaching and these children are lacking the basics to start school off on the right track. Operation Backpack is accepting filled backpacks or supplies from July 8-22, 2011. This little cutie, Cam-Ly (3-years-old), comes to us from Le Top’s hometown of Richmond, CA. While preparing for her recent birthday party she was ‘helping’ mom frost the cupcakes. When they were all done she asked if she could have some of the remaining frosting…well, she made the most of it by getting as much on her as she ate. What can I say, she knows how to have a good time. 🙂

Cam-Ly loves Yo Gabba Gabba, doing gymnastics ON her parents, and is one of the most vivacious, independent, and happy girls I’ve ever met. Mom and Dad must be so proud! Congratulations to Cam-Ly for being today’s Le Top Darling of the Day!

Paulo is wearing "Hop To It!" from Le Top's 2011 Spring/Summer Collection.

The sun came out in Northern California and it got HOT! I guess TC and I had the same idea. It’s time to cool down those kids and let them have fun with water. Paulo packed his backpack with his swim trunks and a towel and headed over to his friend’s house for their weekly playdate. Splish, splash! Let’s go have some fun.

Sadly, the weekend came and it was cold and windy once again. Make up your mind, Sunshine! You’re either in or you’re out.
