It wouldn’t be an Oscar party without popcorn right? Ditch the super artificial microwave version and treat your guests to homemade caramel corn. This is a great “make-ahead” recipe, whether it is the morning before or even the day before (just slip it into a Ziploc baggy!).
INGREDIENTS:
- cooking oil
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
DIRECTIONS:
- Pop the popcorn.
- Prepare the caramel. Just combine the butter and the brown sugar in the saucepot on medium-high heat, stirring occasionally until the mixture boils. Turn off the stove and remove the saucepot from the heat.
- Dump the popped corn into the serving bowl. Drizzle the caramel mixture over the popcorn. Mix it up with wooden spoon instead of with your hands because it is HOT. Make sure to let your Caramel Corn cool off before you eat it.
