le•top baby: 12 x 14 soft soft security blanket in Pink and White
Nadine’s Magic Blanket email from her mom started us thinking about a fun giveaway contest. Do you have your own “blankie” stories? Whether it’s a story like Kristin’s two roommates coming to college with their childhood blankies, or Nadine’s Magic Blanket, we’d love to hear about them, so please share! We’re giving away sets of two little blankets (an heir and a spare) from le•top baby. We make them intentionally little with “security blanket” needs in mind…soft, warm and comforting, but durable and perfectly sized…that way, it doesn’t get dragged around on the ground so much, and it doesn’t take up so much space! Tell us your “blankie” stories and you might win a soft new set! Click here to share.

Yes – we certainly have a “blankie” story (although in our house its name was ‘kee-kee’ – a nickname for blankie!) Our youngest daughter Melissa (now 27 and living in NY) – had a very special kee-kee that went everywhere with her. On a trip to Disneyland kee-kee was inadvertently left in the hotel room at the Disneyland Hotel. What a scene when we got home! I called the hotel, but with no success. Then my sister Kathy – the HERO – left for a Disneyland trip with her family. Being the great Aunt Kat that she is – she went through all the lost and found boxes at the hotel until she found the lost kee- kee! She brought it home (laundered!) and presented it to Melissa.
Melissa grabbed it – buried her face in the precious blanket and screamed KEE – KEE! One happy girl!
p.s. We still have kee-kee at our house!
I will never forget the look on Melissa’s sweet little face the day I came in with Kee Kee. I was so excited when I found that blanket!
Oh yes, we have a Blankie story too. Although it is too long ago…but I thought it was sweet. Our son, Jordan, who is now 6 near 7 years old, had this blue soft furry blankie that he carried EVERYWHERE. He had this blankie since the day he was born and if he didn’t have it at naps or bedtime, we were in for a ride that night. So now, our daughter Allyson was born last year…I asked if he would like to give his blankie to his sister. Well the answer was NO!!!!. But, one day, Jordan came to me and said.. ” Mommy, I think Allyson can have blankie now. Since she doesn’t have a nice soft blankie like mine, and we want her to feel love and warm. Since you love me more and gave me a blankie and not Allyson.” HAHAHA!
Awww… cute story! What a great big brother.
