Miranda has been very excited about being a big sister since the moment she found out — which was about when I was 8 weeks pregnant. Every day she’s been asking when her new baby was coming. So if I do a quick calculation, that’s 161 days of asking, “Is the baby coming today? Will the baby come tomorrow? When’s the end of March?” (And I have roughly 63 more days of questioning. Oh, dear, help me!)
My husband and I have been working on getting the nursery ready. Slowly but surely, it’s coming together. Miranda loves hanging out in that bedroom, sometimes spreading a blanket on the floor and having a tea party with her imaginary brother and sister. Since it’s been a long and endless process getting this nursery ready, Miranda has taken it upon herself to add her own magic touches to the bedroom. She took her magic wand and touched her heart (because, she said, that’s where her power is), then she touched the crib, the floor, the art work, the dresser, the closet, well… you get the picture. She said that with her magic and love all around the nursery, her new baby will be happy and love the new bedroom as much as she does, and they can play together in there all the time!
So sweet. She will be a great big sister!
they are going to be best friends
That is so cute that she “touches her heart, because that is where her power is”! I just love the imagination children have; tea parties, dress up, barbies…all things I loved, loved, loved, and will look forward to participating in once again, when I have children one day!
I think I finally stopped crying over the “wand over the heart” part enough to comment…Miranda is going to be the best sister anyone could ever ask for. Lucky baby!
