Designers' mischief-making fun with the mannequins
Our amazing photographer Marcy Maloy was here last week to discuss our upcoming photo shoot. We will be taking pictures of the new Fall ’09 Collections – I know, we apparel folks don’t go by ‘normal’ calendars! Here we are in the middle of winter, but we’re shipping our Spring Collection, and doing photo shoots for our Fall Collection! A photo shoot is an event that always brings excitement and more than a bit of havoc here at le•top! Marcy is based in San Francisco and has worked with us for over 10 years. She is a fashion photographer, and her love is working with children – check out Marcy’s Website to see some of her amazing photos, including some of ours!

David, moving so fast, Marcy could hardly catch him in the photo!
We’re thinking about having the photo shoot in our warehouse instead of a studio this year, so Marcy had a walk-through and snapped a couple of pictures (0r tried to, at least!) – amazed that all of this (Spring Collection) merchandise in our warehouse was going to magically disappear! (Of course it is NOT magic; we have a great crew to ship it all out!)
Our meeting went great despite the mountains of boxes. We have some ideas for the art direction of the photos, and discussed step 1 – models! We will have our model try-outs (called a ‘go-see’ in the business) here at our offices on January 10th. We usually see around 100 children – it is one of our really fun days, just seeing the clothing on such a diverse group babies and children. Look for some fun photos from the go-see in a future post.
OOO…Go see’s are so much fun, and I am sure even more with lots of darling little kids running around in Le Top’s darling Clothes!!! Can’t wait to see the candid’s taken from the that day! Good Luck- not that you need it, our models are always so beautiful!
Oh boy- I can’t wait for our go-see! I love watching all the children trying on our fun le•top clothing. It is so cute when they love the outfits so much they don’t want to take them off. We’ve had so many parents asking where they can go to buy the outfits in the area where they live.
