Getting into the holiday spirit. (With her Auntie Christine)
As a holiday treat for all of us, adults and kids alike, we went to see the Nutcracker Suite. It’s been raining off and on these days here in Northern California, but luckily on the evening of the ballet, the skies were clear with no sign of rain. Woohoo! Instead of a raincoat, it gave my daughter the opportunity to wear her stylishly new le•top Pink Leopard Faux Fur Jacket with matching le•top Pink Leopard Faux Fur Purse from Bestdressedkids.com (they carry le•top in larger sizes: 5, 6 and 6x). And what did she put in her leopard purse? Lip gloss and a candy cane, of course! (too cute)!
My husband is very keen on introducing science, literature (yes, he’s a bit of a geek) and cultural events to our daughter. To really mark the evening of ballet as a very special occasion (and because he knows how much she loves dressing up like “the grown ups”), he surprised both me and our daughter by presenting the Pink Leopard ensemble the day before the ballet! The jacket is warm, soft, comfortable, AND washable! (I was SO thankful to learn this!), and the purse is just the cutest accessory. Miranda loves wearing this jacket. She didn’t want to take it off in the theater, and insisted on wearing it throughout the show – even though she was starting to perspire – because, you know, girls never “sweat!” 😉
Wow, was dad ever the “Best Dad in the Whole World” that evening! I don’t know what made her eyes light up more, the special, “grown-up” night out at the ballet, the new jacket, or…just being daddy’s little girl.
I hope that Miranda loved the Nutcracker! I am also a huge fan of the ballet – so my children, and now my grandchildren are privileged to ‘enjoy’ it with me every year! My just turned 4 year old grandson loved it this year – alternately ‘conducting’ the orchestra and doing seated dance moves. I think I watched him as much as the ballet! I am also happy Miranda loves the pink leopard jacket! Leopard is just cool, right? And you are correct, women do not perspire, they ‘glisten!’
Oh, yes, she did love The Nutcracker! She wants to take ballet classes now.
