Lisa and J. as Vanna White!
It was so much fun talking with everyone there, and J. told a sweet story that had happened earlier in the week at the store: a grandmother had come in and couldn’t resist buying the le•top Light Blue Winter Wonderland Dress because her granddaughter looked so sweet and adorable in it when she tried it on (by the way, this is one of Chris’s favorite holiday dresses!). The dress is displayed in the window along with the le•top Light Blue Snowman Overall Set. That’s Lisa on the left and J. on the right, doing their best Vanna White impressions!

Happy Birthday, Lisa!!
It was a lucky day for us because we even got invited to eat cake with them. Lisa’s birthday is Sunday (Happy Birthday, Lisa!), but J. had made a chocolate cake for her to celebrate early. Mmmmm…it was yummy good. I wonder if J. would share the recipe with us. You will notice that Lisa is wearing our le•top tiara while blowing out her birthday candles. Too fun! We really had a fun time with this high-energy and hilarious bunch!
Thanks Erin!!! Yes folks – we did have that much fun!
Is Sweetie snoeshoe jogging? BRRRRRRRRR
Those outfits are adorable! I miss those cute little clothes. My daughter is too tall/too big for le•top clothes but my next baby will definitely be wearing le•top.
Sweetie did indeed go snowshoe running and had a blast, even though, upon his return, his face was frozen and was unable to move his jaw and lips, so all he could say through his teeth were, “Thet wuz un ehsom rin”…translation: That was an awesome run! (he really is a crazy man).
It sounds like your store is a lot of fun!
I just purchased the totally cool Kidorable Pirate Raincoat from Yellow Turtle for my nephew — for Christmas. He’s going to love it! Love that eye patch! Arrg!
BTW – where did the ‘yellow turtle’ name come from?
Marie,
We do have alot of fun! One has to! Thanks for checking us out!
Brad,
Thank you so much for ordering with us!
J.
Matt,
The name Yellow Turtle was thought up on the chair lift going up Mansfield in Stowe! The store is 35 years old!
This blog is so much fun! However, I must get back to work! We elves have many Christmas orders to fill!
J.
Whew! We filled orders all day long here at Yellow Turtle for Santa, including some great le•top outfits!! Hope our window shots Erin and Sweetie took will work for entry into contest!! Even though there isn’t a Starbucks within 45 miles. Oh Well. We have loads of outerwear for kids that want to play outside. Check em out at our sister website http://www.kidskiandrain.com. And check out our holiday le•top at http://www.yellow-turtle.com.
What a kick to see Yellow Turtle on the blog. Does that
make J and Lisa blog stars? Thanks Erin and Sweetie
for visiting them during your trip to Vermont. I have
worked with them for many years. We are so lucky to
have such loyal customers. Hey guys, thanks for all your
support.
J and Lisa, there is physical evidence of sweetie’s snowshoe run on today’s Daily Darling! Go check it out!
Welcome to the blog Paula…J and Lisa are indeed blog stars! The visit with them was an unexpected highlight/delight of our VT trip!
I am a witness to Sweetie’s snowshoe run!! Honey and I saw him running back to the lodge just as we were heading out for our first ski of the season!!! Go Sweetie Go!!!
As the daughters of the two “blog stars” here, we’d like to say we do indeed have the coolest, most fun mothas around. Merry Christmas to all from snowy Vermont!! 🙂 Thanks le•top for your adorable clothes that got us through our childhood looking fabulous!
I LOVE that you LOVE your ‘mothas!’ It is not every child that appreciates their mothers ‘dressing them’ for public consumption! But, then again, anyone who can wear a tiara with a straight face has something good going!
Haha! Hey, Jessie and Liana…when your cool mothas told me they had college-age kids, I told them they looked WAY too young to have kids that age! I couldn’t believe it! And yes, your moms really are…totally cool chicks. Merry Christmas!
Happy New Year!
XOXOXO
“The Turtles”
Hi J!! How are you “snow” Turtles doing? Hope you’re keeping warm. Happy, Happy New Year to all you Turtles, too! – from all of us at le•top and, of course, sweetie!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ERIN, SWEETIE, AND EVERYONE ELSE AT LE TOP!! It is freezing now here in Vermont!!! Negative numbers, which is never enjoyable. Holidays are winding down, my daughter just got on a plane back to “the city”. That’s NYC in Eastern speak! OK-you world travelers – look for my daughter in the National Tour of Mama Mia-coming to a city near you!! She just landed the role of Sophie commencing in mid February. Not bad for a former little “Le Top” model.
The negative temperatures sound like great fun!
If nothing else, as I remember them, they make the return home to a blazing fire and cup of cocoa all that much better.
Erin and I were out to dinner last night and started discussing plans for 2009 travel. We both want to return to VT for some more snow exposure at the end of 2009. This time around, we might be bringing some friends or family along.
Lisa – is early to mid-December a pretty safe bet when it comes to having snow in Stowe?
Of course, we’ll be stopping in to Yellow Turtle again – to do some Christmas shopping (and for some more of J’s cake)! My brother’s son loved the pirate rain coat.
Congratulations to your daughter! Wow!! We’ll keep our eyes open for Mama Mia tour dates here in S.F.
Editor’s Note: Apparently, ‘sweetie’ is short for ‘sweet tooth’.
Mid December is usually a good bet for snow, and it is so nice here in Stowe before all the holiday madness and crowds. And if you want more cake, you have to be here around the 14th!!!
Birthday Baby!
Lisa, that’s FANTASTIC about your daughter getting her role as Sophie in the national tour of Mama Mia! WOW! Congratulations to “our” baby “le•top model” growing up to be a Broadway STAR!! You must all be so incredibly proud of her!! Please send her schedule to us so we can share with everyone across the country! Congrats again!
I recently got back from spending the Holidays in my beautiful hometown of Great Falls, MT. Talk about having a white Christmas! It was so nice being in the snow, but man, did it make me realize how spoiled I am now living in California!
Lisa – I am so impressed with your daughter’s achievement! I cannot sing OR dance – and to do both at the same time is mind boggling! I have to tell you that I watched part of Mama Mia (the movie) on the flight over to Hong Kong and drove Paul crazy because I kept singing ABBA songs under my breath while working – so much fun! I hope she is coming to SF? We would love to see her perform. Stay warm!
Chris, Thank you so much!! It is mind boggling, and she got the job the day after she finished college!! Not a bad investment after all. We have her schedule through Labor Day – no SF yet. Don’t have the second half of the year yet, so I’ll keep you posted. Sent the schedule to Erin. ABBA songs are infectious!! I think she is going to have a blast singing them throughout 2009.
Congratulations to your daughter, Lisa! I *LOVE* Mamma Mia!!! I think I saw the Broadway musical 3 times when it came to SF. I’ve got my 4-year old singing all the ABBA songs with me in the car. We’re both addicted. When the movie came out, she begged to see it! She even knew which songs weren’t sung in the movie. 🙂
Please let me know when your daughter comes to SF. I would really like to have my daughter see Mamma Mia live. I know she would have a blast, especially at the end when they get the crowd to get up and dance.
