Sweet Tweet Quacks Us Up

Beep-beep-beep…an update from one of our cute little ducks!  Over this past Mother’s Day we ran a contest on Twitter. (Do you follow us on Twitter? Don’t miss out… start following us today!)  We chose 5 lucky winners to receive a special outfit from our Tiptoe Tulip Ducklings or Lucky Duck Spring 2009 collections. 

NewYorkChica was one of our lucky winners and graciously sent us pictures of her adorable daughter in her winning outfit!  We couldn’t resist sharing this with you, as she looks SOOOOO happy to be in the head-turning tiered ducky dress!

“She couldn’t wait to wear it, so she put it on herself and left her jeans on.  It looks cute with jeans tho! ☺ My daughter loves it!”

Grandmas LOVE Mother’s Day!

… especially when they get crafty hats from their special granddaughter!

Every time my daughter comes home from preschool, she has the project of the day in hand. As much as I want to save all these precious little artwork of hers, I just don’t have the wall space to display them, nor the room to store them. But guess who loves all these great crafts? Grandmas!!

Miranda (wearing a dress from le•top’s Daisy Dots collection) made both her grandmothers these paper hats at school. Perfect Mother’s Day presents that make a grandmother proud to show off to her friends. (I seriously think my mother-in-law is wearing her hat at work right now. Don’t blame us, Corporate America, if Casual Fridays evolve to wearing paper hats with silk flowers stapeled on them.)

Swim Classes for Fun, Exercise and Safety

When my daughter was 7 months old, I enrolled her in a “Parent and Me” swim class. I needed something to break up our monotonous day of sleeping and eating. I was nervous and a bit afraid in the beginning because I didn’t know how she was going to react to being immersed in water, or if she might slip out of my fingers and swallow pool water. But on the flip side, isn’t this what swim classes are all about? It would be a good idea to introduce her to the sport and learn water safety.

Four years later, she is still taking swim class and she’s good at it! (Her swim teacher calls her a mermaid.) My husband and I were so amazed how well she picked up this activity. Neither one of us are swimmers, but seeing our daughter learn how to hold her breath, tread water, backstroke, and master the freestyle, definitely makes us very proud of her.

Through the years we have had many swimsuits. Since Miranda is in swim class year-round, we buy one new swimsuit every season because of the amount of wear and tear she puts these swimsuits through. For the last year or so, Miranda has been selecting her own swimsuits. This season she’s hand-picked Strawberry Fields one-piece swimsuit from the le•top Spring 2009 Collection. She likes the strawberries and flowers that adorn the yellow and white polka dot background. She also likes the big pink flower on the front. Most especially, she LOVES the hat! She can’t wear it to swim class but according to her, “This is perfect for when I go to the beach!”

Daisy Dot to the Super Bowl

Annette and Anne over at Smarty Pants in Tampa, Florida, received a very exciting phone call the other day. The TV show Extra! asked Annette if she would provide a little gift for Jerry O’Connell, who, with his wife Rebecca Romijn, just became parents to twin girls, Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip, on Dec. 28. O’Connell is in Tampa to host a Super Bowl event. Of course she gladly accepted and sent over a Smarty Pants gift box containing some cute, mooshu trainers shoes, and none other than our own Daisy Dot Dress and Bloomer Set from the le•top Spring ’09 Collection! Annette said O’Connell’s reaction was great. He loved the le•top items and just seemed like the nicest guy.
