No, I did not say that!

Two brothers were fighting…

“Ow! Mommy, Collin hit me.”

Mommy doesn’t care unless you’re bleeding or if someone has to go to the hospital.”

These bright and funky eggs are fun for kids to make – I think I remember making them when I was in elementary school. They are a great party decoration if you are hosting Easter dinner too! If packed away carefully, they should last for years.

Ten percent of 2- to 5-year-olds and 20 percent of 6- to 11-year-olds qualify as obese, according to 2008 data on U.S. children from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Being aware of exercise guidelines for children can help you provide your child with the proper amount of physical activity to maintain a healthy weight, thereby preventing excess weight and multiple other potential health problems.

Adorable dipped strawberries decorated in a sports theme… just in time for a March Madness party or the upcoming Father’s Day. They look like something you would pay top dollar for from one of the large mail order companies but actually cost significantly less and are fun to make!

Making the sports themed strawberries is very easy and only requires five ingredients. To see step-by-step instructions and get the recipe, read below.

We went from sunny beach days to cold rainy days in a blink of an eye! Just when I put away the raincoats and rain boots, the rain comes. Good thing I didn’t get a car wash after our road trip.

Usually my son, Paulo and I would walk my daughter, Miranda to her classroom when we drop her off at school. If it’s drizzling a little, we’ll still walk her to class. (At pick up time, if it’s raining too hard that I can’t pick up my daughter at her classroom, she and I have agreed on a Plan B. It’s very important to have a contingency plan – for her safety – when our normal routine gets interrupted.)

This morning, although it wasn’t raining too hard, it was quite windy. So I parked the car, bundled up my daughter in her bright green slicker, and watched her walk from the gate all the way to her classroom with her little rainbow umbrella moving past the other kids. Paulo, nice and warm in his car seat, sadly looked out the wet window and murmured “Bye, Sister! ‘Rada go school.”

Howdy partner!

This little dude, Nate (almost 3-years-old), loves superheroes and cowboys, and enjoys “saving” his friends on the playground while wearing a real or pretend cape. In this photo he’s wearing his favorite cowboy costume on top of his Le Top “Bumper Cars” collection shirt from a past season. Too cute!

Nate also has fun directing family music jam sessions while playing his toy piano and wants to be a tiger or firefighter when he grows up. Awwe! Congratulations Nate for earning the title of Le Top Darling of the Day!

Spread the luck o’ the Irish this St. Patrick’s Day with a homemade shamrock stamp. Use it to decorate paper place mats, coasters, tablecloths, or anything else your little leprechauns wish to dress in green. May your Saturday be as green as can be!

TOOLS NEEDED:

  • Heart-shaped cookie cutter (2 1/2 inches wide and long)
  • Potato, cut in half
  • Paring knife
  • Green acrylic paint
  • Paintbrush

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Press a heart-shaped cookie cutter (ours was 2 1/2 inches wide and long) into the cut face of a potato half.
  2. With the cutter still in place, use a paring knife to cut the potato from around the heart (a parent’s job).
  3. Remove the cutter, then dip the heart into green acrylic paint and press it onto the paper. Repeat to make two more leaves, then use a paintbrush to add a swish for the stem.

No, I did not say that!

Mom: I want you to try some broccoli tonight, ok?

Child: Noooooo!

Mom: I just want you to TRY it and if you decide you don’t like it, you don’t have to eat anymore. Vegetables are good for you.

But, I’m not a rabbit!”

– Mariah, age 3

Paulo (wearing the Le Top "Under the Sea" pull over hoodie shirt with a red crab appliqué) and Miranda playing on the beach.

It’s only March here in the Bay Area but the weather has been so warm and sunny (with a few rainy days in between) that we’ve actually been hitting the beach since January! Last week we went to Pacific Grove. My husband was at a 3-day seminar and since he was staying at a swanky hotel, we decided to “join” him and enjoy the amenities that fancy lodging offers, such as a salt water pool and hot tub, breakfast buffets, and free freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. Mmmmm!

While Daddy was sitting in an uncomfortable chair in a dimly-lit conference room, we were outdoors absorbing sun rays along the coast at the Asilomar State Beach. It was sunny but a little chilly and I wasn’t sure how long we would last at the beach. But as soon as we laid our blanket on the sand and the kids dumped out all their sand toys, the chill in the air seemed to dissipate. My kids were ready to go jump in the ocean! (But we didn’t. That water is FREEZING!)

After a couple hours, we packed it up and drove back to the hotel where we spent the afternoon swimming in the pool, then in the hot tub, then in the pool, then the hot tub (you get the picture), until Daddy came to retrieve us for dinner. What a fun day! Daddy should go to more conferences at ritzy hotels.

Paulo is wearing the Le Top "Under the Sea" lined swim trunks.
